Things are looking up! January Employment Report Shows $170K Jobs Added

 

If the January Jobs Report published by ADP is any indication of what to expect going forward, 2012 is shaping up to be a pretty good year. Highlights from the January 2012 Report – which marks the twenty-fourth consecutive monthly gain in private employment as measured in the ADP National Employment Report – include the following statistics:

IT Leading Job GrowthTotal U.S. nonfarm private employment rose by 170,000 jobs from December 2011 to January 2012.Small businesses representing payrolls with 1 to 49 employees added 95,000 jobs from December 2011 to January 2012.Medium businesses representing payrolls with 50 to 499 employees added 72,000 jobs from December 2011 to January 2012.Large businesses representing payrolls with more than 499 employees added 3,000 jobs from December 2011 to January 2012.Service-providing sector added 152,000 jobs from December 2011 to January 2012.Goods-producing sector added 18,000 jobs from December 2011 to January 2012.

Of the 95,000 jobs created in private small business employment, the ADP Small Business Report® – a subset of the ADP National Employment Report – found that 84,000 small business jobs were created in the service-providing sector while 11,000 small business jobs were created in the goods-producing sector.
